Happy 2025! With the arrival of the new year, it won’t be long before Regional Conferences will be here. If you are a newer member – or just someone who has never attended a regional – these are experiences not to be missed. For many of us, once we attended our first regional we were hooked. Personally, my goal is to never miss one. Regional conference is the place to be to make connections, renew old friendships and get some education – either CE or IAIP/Leadership/Personal Development. Most of all, it is a chance to be more involved with this association. For some, regional is a chance to connect closer to home at a lower cost than traveling to a national convention.
Each region is different in how they run their conference. Historically, they have been two to three day events with business meetings, education, sightseeing, and FUN! Highlights include awards presentations and a CWC(Confidence While Communicating) speakoff.
For the past several years, regions have had the option to run a Hub in lieu of a standalone regional conference. The Hub is held at the site of national convention as a one day meeting the day before the convention. There is a business meeting, awards presentation and ideally a CWC speakoff competition. Education is optional as it is offered at national convention. There are a number of reasons a region might opt for a Hub, including reduced expenses and planning.
Anyone can attend any regional conference. Members who are attending national convention have the option to attend any of the hubs that are being offered. This is a great opportunity to get to know members from other regions.
This year’s regionals will be held as follows:
- Region I – April 3-6, 2025 Hasbrouck Heights, NJ
- Region III – February 21-23, 2025 Savannah, GA
- Region IV – April 4-6, 2025 Cincinnati OH
- Region V – April 11-12, 2025 Excelsior Springs, MO
- Region VI – June 19, 2025 HUB Oklahoma City, OK
- Region VII – June 19, 2025 HUB Oklahoma City, OK
Contact your Regional Vice President for more information. I look forward to seeing those of you attending Regions I and III or a Hub.
